I've been working on developing a new course called "The Educational Divide." As I've developed the course, I've come across some great resources to support global awareness and citizenship. On my main blog screen I have links to some of my favourite organizations and sites. I will be adding the following to that side panel in the days ahead:
TeachUNESCO - http://teachunicef.org/
Edutopia - http://www.edutopia.org/blog/film-festival-poverty-education-lessons
ACT! - http://www.tvdsb.on.ca/act/
Global Fund for Children - http://www.globalfundforchildren.org/
Canadian Organization for Development through Education (CODE) - http://www.codecan.org/code
Aga Khan Development Network - http://www.akdn.org/
fhi360 - http://www.fhi360.org/
Global Dialogues - http://globaldialogues.org/
Global Partnership for Education - http://www.globalpartnership.org/
I hope you will explore these sites. They have amazing resources!
"Global" and "local" are constructs which no longer adequately capture our lived experience. "Glocal" attempts to capture the melding of international and local realities. This blog provides an opportunity to consider how we can develop glocal thinking and encourage others to do so as well.
