About Me

I have been an elementary and secondary school teacher and administrator. Currently, I am a faculty member in the Faculty of Education at Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. My M.Ed. and Ph.D. had a focus on the educational and linguistic experiences of children who moved from other countries to Canada.

A youthful perspective to Haiti

This article appeared in the Woolwich Observer this weekend. It gives a nice overview of what my daughter Karley will be doing as the "social media lead" for our Laurier team which leaves this week for Haiti (click on the different coloured font below):

Safe travels tomorrow and best wishes for an enlightening trip! Could you please forward Karley's twitter handle to me? I'll be sure to tweet it out and help spread the word about the Digital Mentoring Project, the wonderful learning and experience of this trip, and all that you do for Haiti, thanks!
